My Political Jobs and Maybe Tax Rant of the Day

JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! We hear it every election cycle AS IF every politician has the magical solution along with “bringing back the American dream for ‘The Middle Class'”; fuck the poor! Unless there’s a major depression afloat there simply are no poor and nobody cares about them us. Oops, did I say nobody cares about the poor in this nation? Well, certainly somebody cares otherwise we wouldn’t have a name for all the people with no money. The problem for the poor is that politicians don’t get elected pandering to the poor. They get elected pandering to “the middle class” and “The American dream” whatever that dream is. Personally I don’t dream about white picket fences with American flags hanging from the front porch, but I digress. I’m not here to rant about dreaming, the poor, the middle class nor the American dream.
I’m here to rant about jobs and taxes and since I don’t have a job and pay very few taxes who better than me to rant about the subject?
On the subject of jobs unless you live under a rock with no access to news, TV and the internet you’ll have noticed perhaps that many good jobs just simply vanished to such wonderful places like China, Bangladesh and other far off places where they don’t really pander to the US middle class and dreams of picket fences and American flags.
I think, although I have no proof, they dream about earning enough money to be able to take a shower somewhere other than the communal watering hole. That’s another topic for another day though. The topic at hand is still JOBS, JOBS! JOBS!

So the jobs just disappeared! Oh yey! We’re down to 3% unemployment with many people in the US working for shitty, greedy companies offering precious few benefits, almost no union representation (better known as communism in right wing circles) and they can be fired at a whim for such horrible crimes as getting old, being born with hair that parts on the wrong side, being gay, having the wrong skin color or in general, breathing at the wrong time.
Who took these jobs away? You know the answer even if you don’t want to admit it, the RICH!
DAMMIT! I mentioned the rich as being the evil culprits who took those good jobs away. How DARE I? After all, don’t the rich pay all of the taxes in the US? No? I thought the rich paid them all or else the Republican party wouldn’t be in a constant hurry to cut their taxes every week and we all know that if rich people had to pay taxes they’d all want to just stop being rich, take their money and live in cardboard boxes leaving the rest of us to live, working at shitty jobs for greedy companies offering precious few benefits, almost no union representation (better known as communism in right wing circles) and they could be fired at a whim for such horrible crimes as getting old, being born with hair that parts on the wrong side, being gay, having the wrong skin color or in general, breathing at the wrong time. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention being from the wrong religious denomination, but that would be illegal ‘n stuff and we all know no American corporation ever broke a law in the history of corporations.
I have a solution for these corporations that move jobs overseas where labor costs are low and where there really are no labor regulations nor worker protections. It might even sound unAmerican, but I really don’t care. I’m not a flag waver.
When a corporation or company moves their jobs to another country in favor of low labor costs we simply disallow them from selling those products in our country after they leave taking those jobs with them.
To put it in simple term, you ship jobs overseas you can no longer do business in the US. You can’t sell your products here anymore. Certainly there’s a HUGE market for expensive American goods made in China for your average Russian worker. No? Well TOO BAD! You should have thought about that before you moved all the jobs to China or Bangladesh or any other country for that matter.
Now, I have nothing against Chinese workers nor workers in Bangladesh nor anywhere else for that matter, but I DO have something against American companies moving decent paying jobs to those countries for low labor prices ESPECIALLY when those companies and corporations were doing just fine here before they shipped the jobs there. And look, I have nothing against anyone who wants to get rich. Hell, I wouldn’t mind trying it on for size once in awhile even if I have failed at it every time I’ve ever tried.
If anyone is worried about Apple’s bottom line I suggest you move to China and get one of those great jobs at Foxconn where they have to put up nets around the buildings to catch the people jumping to their deaths. But wait! Suppose Apple (and thousands of other corporations) had never made their products in China in the first place and instead kept those jobs right here in the good old USA? Perhaps they wouldn’t have become bazillionaires and perhaps we wouldn’t be buying $1000 phones. Maybe these things would have never come into existence without those nimble little Chinese fingers toiling away for pennies on the dollar..Then what?
Well, we can’t unring the bell or can we? Suppose we made my proposal retroactive and told these corporations they had 10 years to either bring back those jobs or they simply could no longer sell their products on American soil nor anywhere else that we can influence with financial sanctions. Hey, maybe I’m proposing the impossible and trying to undermine the entire global order of capitalism in favor of American exceptionalism. Oh wait, THAT would be Trumpism at it’s finest where the world is fair and only American workers are given priority over workers in other countries because we ALL know that Donald J Trump ONLY cares about American workers and NOT Donald J Trump’s bottom line.. After all, who wants to buy a MAGA hat made in China?
So many cans of worms and so little time to open them all.
